I will be uploading videos from time to time and would really appreciate your feedback!
My goal is to optimize the old Metin world and bring in new ideas.
Currently 64-bit client.
My current systems:
First-person view
Tradehouse (ALPHA) - Ugly but already working - no memory leaks etc., I don't like offline shops.
Rarity system - Static socket - Uppen & Bonis switch leaves rarity intact - NPC quest for possible upgrade
Lightning system - ENV shadows are projected onto players, as well as soft lightning on buildings, NPCs, IsPC monsters
Ingame - Brightness - Contrast - Saturation (no shader needed) only render interface & fonts remain unaffected.
Rain system + rain sound remains when changing maps. Does not conflict with snow. When it rains, snow is off.
Always in Vidoes, I like the Sound
FPS system + ingame slider - Only smoother, no feedback or latency difference compared to other players. Perfect Sound + Motion timings
Mount system Mount - Like Horse with menu
Riding skill level has an impact on horse stats, skills possible + bonuses depending on rarity
Switchbot - Thanks to Mijago. - System improved, lag query (scan) built in(c++), faster switching, new interface
- System significantly more server-friendly than pur c++
I would be very grateful for any feedback and suggestions.
Swapped the font engine to - freetype, linux works now, font caching is now integrated, better performance with outline activated.
Update 07.12.2025:
MSAA/AA Gameslider + real-time update
Better Visuals - edges and blurred textures + Textures enhancment with python scaling -Magick.
Ranking points system
The ranking point system isn't a big deal, but I think a certain reward and a vertical mission is pretty cool.
Performance optimization for many draw calls + particle
The lag at Metin Spawn was reduced as much as possible.
Fullscreen is now BorderlessWindow, more modern then fullscreen.
Teleport is now instant, no real loading time + caching activated with .mpc
